Australia has not changed the travel warning for Thailand in response to warnings by US authorities about a possible increase in terrorist attacks in Bangkok.
United States on Friday warned of a terrorist threat against tourists “in the near future” in the capital of Thailand.
This follows the announcement by the Government of Thailand that they had detained a Lebanese with suspected links to the militant group Hezbollah.
“Foreign Terrorists may be seeking to take the offensive against tourist areas in Bangkok in the near future,” the US Embassy in Bangkok said in an emergency message on their website.
